Chanel's iconic and timeless straight-cut tweed jacket, one of my favorite fashion creations !!
Apparently there is a much bigger reason behind the creation of this jacket than pleasing the eyes :)
This fashion jewel was first imagined by Coco Chanel in 1954 and has been a staple of women's fashion through its many iterations over the years. The jacket was the result of deliberate design with a main reason in mind: freedom of movement.
"The designers have forgotten that there are women inside the dresses. Most women dress for men and want to be admired. But they must also be able to move, to get into a car without bursting their seams! Clothes must have a natural shape." Chanel said. She wanted to design a jacket that was not only pleasing to the eyes, but was something women could feel comfortable in.
